چکیده

Abstract Background Cognitive decline is a common presentation of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and continued search exists for reliable biomarker early identification management this clinical problem. The objective study to select the most useful in assessment PD-related cognitive decline. This cross-sectional included 47 patients with PD matched healthy controls. All participants were assessed by quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) spectral (relative power background peak frequency) connectivity measures (coherence phase lag degree), addition evaluation using Unified Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS)and Modified Hoehn Yahr staging scale neuropsychological Montreal Assessment (MoCA). Results showed significantly higher relative all frequency bands over right temporal region no significant changes frequency, coherence degree compared impaired cognition (MoCA < 26) had lower global power, more marked alpha beta normal cognition. Alpha frontal regions correlation different domains MoCA score. Conclusions QEEG especially could be used as adjunct

Cognitive training in Parkinson disease

Objective: To quantify the effects of cognitive training (CT) on cognitive and behavioral outcome measures in patients with Parkinson disease (PD). Methods: We systematically searched 5 databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of CT in patients with PD reporting cognitive or behavioral outcomes. Efficacy was measured as standardized mean difference (Hedges g) of post-training change. R...

Imaging studies as biomarkers of Parkinson ’ s disease

The need for biomarkers Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer’s disease, affecting over 1 million people in the USA [1]. PD is also the most common cause of parkinsonism, a clinical syndrome with a constellation of symptoms including bradykinesia, rigidity and resting tremor. The diagnosis of PD is based on a set of clinical criteria that ...

Recent developments in biomarkers in Parkinson disease

PURPOSE OF REVIEW Parkinson disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer disease, and current demographic trends indicate a life-time risk approaching 4% and predict a doubling of prevalence by 2030. Strategies are being developed to apply recent advances in our understanding of the cause of Parkinson disease to the development of biomarkers that will enable the i...

Identification of mild cognitive impairment disease using brain functional connectivity and graph analysis in fMRI data

Background: Early diagnosis of patients in the early stages of Alzheimer's, known as mild cognitive impairment, is of great importance in the treatment of this disease. If a patient can be diagnosed at this stage, it is possible to treat or delay Alzheimer's disease. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is very common in the process of diagnosing Alzheimer's disease. In th...
